Hi! I'm Joelle. I'm a Registered Social Worker and Licensed Counselling Therapist in Saint John, New Brunswick. I take a person-centred, trauma informed approach and am passionate about creating a safe, trusting relationship with my clients. In my practice, I draw from various therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Humanistic approaches.
I have a special interest in working with individuals who have experienced trauma. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy which has had great success in treating a variety of issues including childhood trauma, PTSD, C-PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, and more. I have also completed a Birth and Reproductive Trauma certificate through Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Trainings and, since becoming a mother myself, have become passionate about perinatal mental health.
In sessions together, you can expect to learn coping strategies and gain new perspectives while working toward deeper healing and change. Please feel free to reach out for a free consultation if you have any questions, or just want to chat and see if I may be a good fit for you.
